It includes a two-channel 2.4 GHz receiver, two clip-on microphones, and versatile mounting and connection accessories housed in an ultra-portable charging bar that doubles as a handheld interview mic.
Signature Sennheiser sound quality
Profile Wireless also features internal recording capability in each clip-on microphone, so you can capture backup audio files. If you‘re in a hurry with limited time to verify levels, simply use Safety Channel Mode on the receiver, which will output the audio at your selected sound level on the left channel and at a lower level on the right channel, to help protect against clipping. Finally, you also have the option to activate Backup Recording Mode on each clip-on mic, which will then turn on internal recording automatically if the wireless signal becomes weak or drops out.
All-in-one versatility
All key components are stored in the system’s portable charging bar, including the receiver, two clip-on microphones, cold shoe mounting adaptor, USB-C and Lightning connectors, microphone mounting clips and magnets for attachment to clothing. Also included is a carrying pouch to securely transport the charging bar itself along with additional accessories. Plus, if you need a handheld mic, you have one already — the charging bar doubles as handheld mic!

Why does Profile Wireless not have noise cancellation?
Noise cancellation promises to reduce unwanted sounds directly in the microphone.
This can be very helpful for producing social media content but comes at a high risk:
The final audio does not always sound great and the noise cancellation effects cannot be reversed in post-production.
As Sennheiser care deeply about audio quality this is a risk, they did not want to impose on our users with Profile Wireless.
Why does Profile Wireless not offer 32 Bit float recording?
Recording audio in 32Bit float is supposed to make your internal recordings un-clippable.
Sadly, this is not fully true as it does not prevent the microphone capsule to overload on loud noises – which will also cause the recording to clip.
With Profile Wireless Sennheiser have chosen another path to minimize the risk of audio clipping: Internal stereo-recording. Instead of increasing from 24- to 32 bit, Profile Wireless features stereo recording on its internal microphone that records with two different audio levels, thereby maximizing the used audio bandwidth of the microphone capsule and reducing the chance of clipped audio.
Why there is no need for timecode functionality in Profile Wireless:
Profile Wireless is primarily aiming at aspiring filmmakers, content creators and mobile journalists who mostly prefer a small and easy-to-use setup.
Nevertheless Profile Wireless works perfectly with multi-camera-setups as audio-synchronization can easily be achieved through editing-software e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut or Davinci Resolve without the need of timecode.
Timecode is a great tool for professional film productions or large setups with multiple cameras and audio sources but does require further expertise on the user-side.
